If Black Seed Oil is good enough for King Tut it might just be good enough for your eczema.

People ask us all the time: How do you guys come up with all these successful products for so many different skin issues? IT'S ME. You've heard of the universal donor? I'M THE UNIVERSAL SUFFERER. My skin is so sensitive and I have so many varied skin issues I'm like a smorgasbord of skin problems. I'm THE perfect test subject. If it works on me it will work on many.

I have these places on my arms (above my wrists) that occasionally start itching and if I don't practice a lot of self control, I will scratch these places raw. It comes and goes. If you are reading this, you know what I mean. I really don't understand what sets them off, but it has been a big problem for me for a long time. It is of course Eczema. Millions suffer all the time with this.

So I started researching a solution. Finding effective products is time consuming and sometimes frustrating. We look at individual ingredients that are known to help and then find the highest quality ones. Keep in mind, there are good quality ingredients and poor quality ingredients. We buy only top quality with their provenance assured. I test each individual ingredient on my skin first before combining them. We put them in a cream base and then skin test again. When we believe we have the right combination of ingredients, then we start trying to figure out percentages of each to use.

What is label candy?

Do we use certain ingredients just because they sell products? That's called 'label candy'. You see it all the time. A product will brag about an ingredient and then you see it is all the way down at the bottom or near the bottom of the list. The ingredients they are bragging about are in such small percentages as to be ineffective. Label Candy.

I've found that while one ingredient can help, often putting ingredients together in the right combinations and proportions can multiply their benefits. We know drinking Oolong Tea has reported benefits for eczema (Archives of Dermatology, January 2001). But how about applying it topically? We think it does.

King Tut?

Black (Cumin) Seed Oil comes from nigella sativa, an annual flowering plant that's cultivated in India, Bangladesh, Turkey, the Mediterranean basin, and in the Middle East. The best seeds come from Egypt (which we use) where they are grown in desert oasis. When archaeologists discovered the tomb of the Egyptian boy-king Tutankhamun (King Tut), they found a bottle of Black (Cumin) Seed Oil, suggesting that it would be needed in the afterlife. It was that valuable to the ancient Egyptians! Many in the Black Seed's native counties consider the oil a cure all. The famous Greek physician Dioscorides used Black (Cumin) Seeds to treat headaches and toothaches. It's been said that Black (Cumin) Seed cures every disease but death itself. The reason might be found in the complex chemical structure of the seeds. These little seeds have over one hundred different chemical constituents, including abundant sources of all the essential fatty acids. Of course you don't see this oil as a primary ingredient in many products due to it's cost and scarcity. And lets face it most skin care products today are basically chemical soups with few real ingredients.

So does it work?

Works on my problem areas. I can go sometimes for days and still seems the area is soft and hydrated. And those we have tested are very pleased. Can you imagine a more frustrating skin condition?

Our secret is simple. We use the highest quality ingredients and keep testing and combining ingredients until we find the right mix. Sometimes this can take a while. But we know remarkable things happen when the right mix of quality ingredients are used and made in a specific way.

So how is it used? Do a test on your most troublesome areas. When applied this soothing lotion won't absorb right away. That's ok, within 15 to 30 minutes it will absorb completely. I've noticed a day or two later I can still feel where it was applied. Sort of a cool softness.

READ the ingredients on the labels of the products you are using. Chemical soup is what we call them! 95% of the products for skin care out there today were made years ago and have a long long shelf life. Our products are freshly made and shipped. With only a one year shelf life. The ingredients are all pronounceable real ingredients. Other skin care products are made with super chemicals.

Long unpronounceable names.  See ingredient info about this.

Ingredients in order of prominence.

Reverse Osmosis Purified Water: When looking at other skin care products I always want to know how the water they use is purified(if at all). Is it filtered? How small a filter? Ozonated? Often the devil is in the details. We use only Reverse Osmosis purified water. Reverse Osmosis purified water is the gold standard for being clean and pure. So if we are talking microscopic differences why is it important? Reverse Osmosis water, we've found, works better than any other water to maximize the potential of the precious ingredients we use. It's expensive, but we believe anything else is purely just cutting corners.

Ooolong Tea Infused Reverse Osmosis purified water:
virtually all skin care products mention purified water. But the real deal is reverse osmosis purified water. This mean ZERO contaminants which means the starting point is pure. It's expensive to do (goes through 5 filters, which have to be changed often), but it is the only water we use. We use the waste water from this purifying process to water our flowers and landscaping. So there is no waste.

Oolong Tea? (most people have never heard of it) There are more varieties of tea than anyone would ever guess. The variety we use: Da Hong Pao Big Red Robe Wuyi Mountain HIGH GRADE is a very important Wuyi Red tea. Legend has it that the mother of a Ming Dynasty emperor was cured of an illness by a certain tea, and that emperor sent great red robes to clothe the four bushes from which that tea originated. Three of these original bushes, growing on a rock on Mount Wuyi and reportedly dating to the Song Dynasty, still survive today and are highly venerated. At one point, less than one kilogram of tea was harvested from these plants each year, of which a portion was retained by the Chinese government. In 2005, the remainder of this original and real Da Hong Pao was saleed, with an initial asking price of 4000 RMB/100 g, but often reaching millions of dollars per kilogram. New growing techniques have brought down the prices. The one we use is still pricey, about $300 a pound. This variety has many benefits for healthy skin.

NEW: A decoction of 5 herbs: Arnica Montana, Mullein Flowers, Comfrey Roots, Comfrey Leaves, St. John's Wort.

Arnica montana is one of the most beneficial substances available in nature’s pharmacopeia. It helps soothe the skin. And helps with healing.

Mullein Flowers, Comfrey Roots, Comfrey Leaves, St. John's Wort. All have serious skin healing properties.

Black (Cumin) Seed Oil (Virgin grade).  (Nigella sativa) Nigella Sativa is traditionally known in Middle Eastern countries as “Habbat al Barakah” – ‘The Blessed Seed’, due to it’s powerful healing qualities for many ailments. It's healing benefits for Eczema are remarkable. This oil contains over 100 components, many of which still remain to be discovered. It is a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids and contains about 35% oil, 21% protein, and 38% carbohydrates. More than 50% of the oil are essential fatty acids. It’s linoleic acid and gamma linolenic acid content help form Prostaglandin E1, which helps the body to inhibit infections, balances the immune system, and regulates allergic reactions. Gamma-linolenic acid also helps stabilize the cell membrane. Black Seed also contains about .5-1.5% volatile oils including Nigellone and thymochinon which are responsible for Black Seed’s anti-histamine, anti-oxidant, anti-infective, and broncho-dialating effect.

Golden Jojoba Oil. (Simmondsia chinensis) Jojoba is also known as a wax ester. It closely mimics the oils in our skin. What it's real purpose here is to help carry other ingredients deeper into your skin. Although this oil is sold by itself as a cure all, we tend to believe its best role is as a carrier oil.

Why do we use so many oils? Oils are natures little powerhouses of nutrition. Each different oil contains many unique nutrients. They are a true bounty of nutritious ingredients. Nature designed the nutrients in seeds to keep a new baby plant alive until it can get it's old enough to get its nutrients from the soil. It is important to the mother plant to carry on it's DNA to the next generation. When seeds are squeezed oils come out. These oils are the essence of the mothers desire to keep her babies alive. Natures milk. Each plant species has it's own unique oil profile within those seeds. Our bodies can draw great benefits from the oils from these seeds. This is why we refer to oil free products as a chemical soup. They carry no nutritional benefit.

Emulsifying wax: This is a vegetable wax that is used to combine the oils and water.

The way we make moisturizers is an old world process married to high tech measurements and techniques. Most moisturizers today combine oils and water using thickeners (such as Xanthan and Algin). We refuse to take this shortcut. Although Xanthan is a safe vegetable derived ingredient, Algin suffers from many unknown ingredients. Algin is another word for seaweed. It is harvested from the sea by throwing long ropes out into the ocean and allowing seaweeds to grow on them. Then they pull in these ropes and cure the seaweed with sulfur and dry it to a powder. Along with other pollutants in the ocean, sulfur is an ingredient many people with skin issues are allergic to. None of our products contain Algin (or sulfur).

So why is our method better? A true moisturizer combines oils and water perfectly so your skin can receive all the valuable benefits from the oils. If you've ever poured oil into water you know oil floats on top. No matter what you do it will float on top. We use an old world recipe and high tech specific temperatures and techniques to combine oils and water using Emulsifying wax and Stearic acid (also a vegetable wax) at a specific time. This process using vegetable waxes marries the oils and the water. Our skin is primarily water. When you apply oils to your skin it really cannot be absorbed. This process allows your skin to access the valuable nutrients in the oils we use. Much better than any thickened oil or oil free product.

Calendula Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil(Olea europaea): Of course Extra Virgin Olive oil is the good stuff. The first pressing is the most nutritious. Calendula (Calendula officinalis) is infused into the Olive Oil in a time consuming process. Calendula has a long history of use as a wound-healing and skin-soothing botanical. This lovely marigold-like flower (although called pot marigold, it is not a true marigold) is considered a vulnerary agent, a substance that promotes healing. Calendula also has anti-inflammatory and weak antimicrobial activity. It is most often used topically for lacerations, abrasions, and skin infections. It is great for Eczema. The petals and pollen contain triterpenoid esters (an anti-inflammatory) and the carotenoids flavoxanthin and auroxanthin (antioxidants, and the source of the yellow-orange coloration). The leaves and stems contain other carotenoids, mostly lutein (80%) and zeaxanthin (5%), and beta-carotene. Plant extracts are also widely used by cosmetics, presumably due to presence of compounds such as saponins, resins and essential oils.

Hyaluronic acid Serum: Hyaluronic Acid drives massive amounts of moisture into the skin. It is a special protein occurring naturally throughout the human body, and is one of the most heavily researched substances in medicine today with thousands of clinical trials mostly in the fields of orthopedics and eye surgery. Its function in the body is, among other things, to bind water and to lubricate movable parts of the body, such as joints and muscles. Its consistency and tissue-friendliness makes it an excellent moisturizer, which is why it has earned a place in skin-care products and cosmetics. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most hydrophilic molecules in nature and as such it is aptly described as "nature's moisturizer". Hyaluronic acid is created by a food grade yeast fermentation process from non-GMO sugarcane and/or grains and as such can be labeled vegetarian (or vegan) since no animal products have been used in the entire process as raw materials.

Stearic acid: is not an acid, but another type of vegetable wax. Adds creaminess.

Oatmeal powder. Finely ground. It has remarkable healing and soothing benefits for Eczema.

Germall Plus (a vegetable derived preservative to keep our product fresh) only needs 2/ 10's of one percent to keep our product safe.

Lavender essential oil: A small amount to even out the smell. Almost imperceptible.

pH neutral

No animal ingredients or testing EVER!

We are the manufacturer and there are no middle men. In fact, we get asked daily to wholesale our products. We don't because we want everything made to be shipped fresh to you. Middle men mean price mark ups (the price doubles every time it changes hands) and time delays. Most skin care products you buy to use today, were made in large factories years ago and have been in storage. Everything we ship was made in small batches just a few weeks ago. Fresh matters!  Quality ingredients matter!

Now after reviewing our ingredients. I want you to look at the ingredients for a moisturizer that costs over a $100 an ounce. How many can you pronounce? Keep in mind the water they use is not even listed as purified. They might be even using tap water (OMG!). Ingredients: Water(aqua), sorbitan sesquioleate, stearyl heptanoate, decyl oleate, cetearyl octanoate, caprylic/capric glycerides, propylene glycol, dimethicone, rose hip (rosa canina) oil, hydrolyzed elastin, hydrolyzed collagen, retinyl palmitate, tocopheryl acetate, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, magnesium sulfate, methylparaben, flavour (aroma), propylparaben, bht, edta, sodium saccharin.

There are very few ingredients here we would consider using in our products. We do use rose hip oil in one of our products but a much higher virgin grade.

I absolutely love this cream. A little bit goes a long way. Applys nicely and your skin absorbs it entirely. No oily residue. Feels fantastic and last a long time. I keep one cream at the office and one at home. I can feel the difference when I'm not using it. Very happy with this purchase!!

I don't have eczema, but I love this cream. In the winter, my skin gets quite dry, especially my eyelids. I use this cream as a moisturizer twice a day. It feels so nice going on. I put it on my skin kind of thick and it just absorbs in. If I have any red marks or a little scratch, it really helps reduce the redness overnight. This is a wonderful product.

I bought this cream for my daughter, she has eczema patches all over her body. Within a few days the patches disappeared or some less noticeable.I have to say this cream can be used as an all purpose cream. Daughter also had a wart on her toe that was irritating her and was taking some time to get rid of it. I thought lets try this cream, honestly within 2days the wart fell off like a scab. I was shocked! Black seed definitely has healing properties. I highly recommend this product!

I have to share our experience with this amazing cream. A few months ago, our three-year-old started breaking out in a light rash on his back. We used this cream on it a couple of nights and it went away, after months of having applied other creams every single night just to keep it from getting inflamed. So that's great, but then we really got to see what it can do. Two days ago, he woke up from his nap with a horrible heat rash covering his entire right leg. He said it was itchy, and it looked bad enough that I thought I was going to have to take him to the doctor on Monday. We applied this cream probably five times over the next 18 hours, and this morning the rash was about 90% better. Also, the cream kept the skin moisturized enough that he only complained about his leg itching once. He did complain that it hurt a little the first time we applied it, but I would expect that anything applied to that rash would have been a little painful. We have tried many, many eczema/rash remedies over the last three years, from plain coconut oil to prescription steroid creams. I have never seen results this fast out of anything less than a steriod cream. I think that if you know what's causing a rash or eczema and it's not the result of a deeper problem that requires medical intervention, then this cream is the way to go. A+ for this one!!!

Recently I thought my 7 year old had ringworm, took her to Dr and they said Eczema, gave me prescription and when I went to pick up the cream, it was $239.00!!! She had patches all over her face, lips and eyelids, some on arms and legs. I walked away without getting it. Came home and used the sample jar you sent of this cream in combination with the cupuacu cream for 5 days. I applied it about 4 times daily. I would help her wash with the body wash in evenings before bed time. All the patches on her face and arms are almost completely gone and the areas on her legs are visibly reduced. I am so very glad I didn't buy a $239 prescription cream! I'll just get more of this awesome stuff at a bargain $20 and have it on hand for next flare up.

I love this cream. Started having very dry skin on my eyelids during the winter. I use this cream every night and within 2 days, my eyelids are no longer dry. Remember, this will not absorb in right away, but will within about 20 minutes. I just use it right before going to bed. Decided to try it on my face as well and it leaves my skin soft and hydrated. Very happy I found this.
