Persian Silk

(Albizia julibrissin)

Eye Cream

  • We sell so many eye creams it is probably a good idea to rotate them.
  • We have several eye creams. What is the difference?
  • You'll find this one a bit thicker and slower to absorb.
  • More nutrients and extracts
  • Caffeine stimulates the skin and removes fine lines.
  • Helps with Glycation
  • With Alpha Bisabolo (derived from Chamomile)
  • TSUBAKI OIL as a primary ingredient

What are Adaptogens? Adaptogens are a select group of herbs that support the body's natural ability to deal with stress. The eyes are the 1st place we visibly see stress as we age. They are called adaptogens because of their unique ability to “adapt” their function according to the specific needs of the body. This may be physical, chemical or biological needs. Adaptogenic herbs include Rhodiola Rosea, Fo-Ti, Albizia Julibrissin and Schisandra.

Persian Silk Tree Bark: Albizia julibrissin, also known as the Persian silk tree, is a plant indigenous to southwestern and eastern Asia. Acting as a barrier, albizia julibrissin protects collagen and elastin, reducing the signs of under eye bags, dark circles and a dull complex. It helps to create youthful, plump and energized skin.

What is Glycation? In skin care, Persian Silk Tree Bark (Albizia julibrissin) is believed to protect against Glycation, a process that results in an aged, inelastic state of collagen. (Do you know how your skin loses suppleness as you age? That is, in part, due to Glycation).

The Persian Silk Tree Bark Extract offers some impressive cosmetic benefits. It boosts cell energy, revitalizes tired skin, supports the skin's natural detoxification process and tightens weak contours – for a fresh and smooth complexion.

What's in it?

Reverse Osmosis purified water: virtually all skin care products mention purified water. But the real deal is reverse osmosis purified water. This mean ZERO contaminants which means the starting point is pure. It's expensive to do (goes through 5 filters, which have to be changed often), but it is the only water we use. We use the waste water from this purifying process to water our flowers and landscaping. So there is no waste.

Active herbs using a special process of decoction into our Reverse Osmosis Purified Water:

Persian Silk Tree Bark (Albizia julibrissin) This is a plant often called the “Persian silk tree” or “mimosa.” Protects skin cells by producing melatonin. It works by improving respiration, ridding the skin of toxic glycogens, increasing cellular energy and reducing the formation of AGE pigments.

Guarana: Has massive amounts of Caffeine in it. Guarana has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, making it a great additive in cosmetic products. It aids blood flow to your skin, reduces damage linked to aging and minimize undesirable features, such as saggy skin and wrinkles.

Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu) This adaptogenic root has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 3,000 years. It has healing properties when applied directly to the skin.

Rhodiola Rosea has a high concentration of antioxidant polyphenols and proanthocyanadins it also provides added oxidative protection, combating premature aging. It also has a stimulating effect on the skin increasing circulation and cell turnover, rapidly renewing collagen and reducing the appearance of fine lines.

Schisandra: Packed with antioxidants, including key vitamins C and E, Schisandra's strong astringent qualities enable the skin to hold in moisture for more fullness. Schisandra may also protect against UVB induced skin damage and is still used as an important botanical in many Eastern skin formulas.

TSUBAKI OIL: Also known as Camellia oil (Camellia oleifera): This is a precious oil. It is the only oil in this product. Commonly known as "tea seed oil", it is a carrier vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the Camellia oleifera evergreen plant. The very same plant leaf we use to make black and green tea. It has fewer saturated fatty acids and more monounsaturated fatty acids than olive oil, has high levels of vitamin E and contains polyphenol antioxidants. TSUBAKI OIL is one of the most treasured secrets of the geisha. The flower itself symbolizes feminine beauty, while oil from the seeds acts as a feather-light, deeply nourishing moisturizer. The molecular weight of the oil is an almost identical match for skin, allowing it to absorb quickly and thoroughly. Camellia oil has more naturally-occurring antioxidants than almost any other botanically derived oil.

Hyaluronic acid Serum: Hyaluronic Acid is a special protein occurring naturally throughout the human body, and is one of the most heavily researched substances in medicine today with thousands of clinical trials mostly in the fields of orthopedics and eye surgery. Its function in the body is, among other things, to bind water and to lubricate movable parts of the body, such as joints and muscles. Its consistency and tissue-friendliness makes it an excellent moisturizer, which is why it has earned a place in skin-care products and cosmetics. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most hydrophilic molecules in nature and as such it is aptly described as "nature's moisturizer". But the big problem with hyaluronic acid is it is heat sensitive. Any temperature much over 100 degrees F. and it is gone. This is why most skin care products destroy it in the manufacturing process. We make our products in small batches and can completely control the temperature during the process. So the Hyaluronic Acid serum can be added below 100 degrees F.

How is it a serum? Hyaluronic acid comes to us as a powder. We use a gluten free version. We mix it in precise proportions with cold Reverse Osmosis Purified water, refrigerate it and wait for it to gel. Usually this process takes several days. This is the serum. You cannot add it in powder form to a moisturizer and expect it to do anything. But that is what most manufacturers do. It is the attention to detail we pride ourselves in, that big manufacturers cannot or will not do. This makes for superior products we are proud to produce.

Emulsifying wax: This is a vegetable wax that is used to combine the oils and water.

Stearic acid: is not an acid, but another vegetable wax. Adds creaminess.

Alpha Bisabolol: Chamomile is so much more than our favourite herbal tea - it contains a wonderful little thing called Bisabolol. Having proven anti-inflammatory properties, bisabolol declares war on acne, rashes, rosacea, psoriasis, and similar conditions associated with frequent skin irritations. It has also been shown that bisabolol calms the skin after exposure to UV rays, and tones down sunburns and redness. Colorless with a subtle, floral fragrance, it can help the skin to absorb other active ingredients more effectively (we just love a team player). Due to its perceived skin-healing properties, Bisabolol has been used in cosmetics for hundreds of years. Usually though in higher end products.

So why don't more skin care companies use Bisabolo? At about $100 a pound it is not something you find often used. We don't skimp on ingredients.

Germall Plus (a vegetable derived preservative to keep our product fresh) only needs small amount to keep our product safe.

Optiphen is a paraben free preservative system, which consists of Phenoxyethanol in an emollient base of Caprylyl Glycol. The combination of these ingredients provides optimized protection against microbial growth while imparting exceptional feel to the finished product.

Sodium Hydroxide. A tiny amount to bring our product to pH neutral: And why is this important? Although we use ingredients that have an acid pH, the finished moisturizer is pH neutral, like all of our moisturizers. We believe the skin is actually stressed by acids. Virtually all moisturizers on the market are acid. We wondered why? If acids are so good for the skin as these products claim, why does it feel so good to take a swim in the ocean? Where the pH of the water is very much the opposite of acid. Why is it recommended to keep swimming pool water slightly alkaline? There is a whole line of thinking now that promotes alkalines. We believe the skin and all of nature loves alkaline and hates acids. If the ocean were to all of a sudden become slightly acid, mostly it would be a dead body of water. Forget this nonsense of the 'acid mantle'. Our bodies when healthy, are slightly alkaline.

We've been helping people since 1999 get their skin under control. We get emails and we always answer emails. It goes back and forth, many times. Our ears are close to the ground. After answering tens of thousands of emails, we pretty much know what works and what doesn't. We won't introduce a product just to make a buck. It has to do something that no other product on the market does.

We don't use fillers or unpronounceable chemicals. Every ingredient is important. Most skin care products out there will tout an important ingredient. But the problem is the ingredient is in such small quantities that it does nothing. Not true with our products.

No animal ingredients or testing EVER! We get assurances from our suppliers that our raw ingredients are not animal derived or any animal testing done.

Most skin care products you buy to use today, were made in large factories years ago and have been in storage. Everything we ship was made in small batches just a few weeks ago. Fresh matters! Quality ingredients matter! All of our products are wheat and gluten free.

Most of our ingredients are as close to nature as possible. We avoid overly processed ingredients. Processing means heat and that destroys the goodness in the precious ingredients we use.

We also include a free 1/2 size bar of our Natural shea butter non-drying soap with each jar. This Natural Shea Butter soap has to be tried to be believed. It is nothing short of wonderful.

How much? $19.99 for 1 ounce (29.57 mL). Free USA shipping.

Sorry but we do not ship to Italy and India (and most continental African countries) at this time due to difficulties experienced with their customs and post office.

5 of 5 Great value for the price March 22, 2024
Reviewer: Cami from Monroe, CT United States
I've been using for less than two weeks now, so I can't say if it will have an effect on wrinkles, but it feels soft and absorbs well into the skin, leaving the skin hydrated (which does help with wrinkles not showing that much).

4 of 5 Too early to tell, but ingredients are fabulous March 20, 2024
Reviewer: Mina from Sacramento, CA United States
I was very happy to receive this generous Persian silk tree ice cream. I’ve been using another brand with a similar active ingredient, but it was more expensive for a much smaller amount of product. I really appreciate this pure Persian silk tree, eye cream developed by a chemist. I am really excited for the results, I’ve been using it all over my face, and I’m not sure if I’m only supposed to be using it under my eyes. I do have dark spots on the face, am I only supposed to be using it for Spot? Correction, under the eyes and on dark spots? Or all over the face? I am excited to try this product. It has not broken me out or caused any irritation. Keep making products like this.
