Sometimes we introduce a product that comes about by accident. We were
experimenting with a series of herbs well known for skin health. We did
an Herbal Decoction and then thickened it and poured a bottle to see
what it might be like. My daughter applied to her skin and said ‘finally
you made me a toner’. At the time it wasn’t even in my mind to use it
that way. So we decided to improve what we had done. We added in
Dl-Panthenol and Allantoin to improve the product even further. After
several more test batches we had what I believe is something special.
For the last couple of months we have been asking our customers to
evaluate it. And we’ve had several ask when we would have it for sale.

Is this a traditional toner? No! This is a way of getting these skin
healing herbs deep into your skin. This improves the overall health of
your skin. It has a deep herb scent.
I
just love the toner.
I
will make (have made) it a part of my routine. Kimwe asked Kim
how she felt about the scent.
It smells a little “herby”. But that’s what in it.
I
feel like it’s food for my skin.
People are spoiled with their fake fragrances.
Not sure what you could use to to mask smell without altering
product too much. Lavender?

love the way it tightens my skin and have been using it on my

We decided to go unscented because, we felt the scent might change
the benefits of the product.
So what are traditional toners? I’d say pretty much all toners are 90%
alcohol and water. They do seem to make the skin feel good, when
applied. But the problem with alcohol is it strips the skin of
nutrients. Which makes the skin less toned.
So
I’ve been using the new Toner you sent me to try for about a week
now. And, OMG, this Toner
is
absolutely incredible! I am so amazed by the way it’s made my skin
look and feel. I mean, it literally has helped clear my skin even
better, and it’s even helping improve spots from old acne scarring,
and hyper pigmentation!
Makes
my facial skin feel firm and tight. But in a fabulous and very clean
and fresh feeling way.
I do
my daily Tea Tree Treatment Scrub at night, everyday, then I apply a
little of the Toner all over, wait about 10 minutes, and then I
moisturize with
the
midnight PM Acne Moisturizer.
But
in the mornings, I wash just with the Shea
Soap.
And again just a little amount of the Toner,
And
the same moisturizer.
I’m
telling you, it’s been just about only 1 week, and this is now my
holy grail product!

How do I use it? After your bath, apply a very thin layer to your face.
About a 1/2 teaspoon. And let it absorb. About 5 or 10 minutes. If the
bath is very steamy I step into my cooler bedroom to help it absorb
faster. After it sets and your skin is dry, then moisturize. If it
doesn’t all absorb, wipe excess and use less next time. It’s easy.
Ingredients: In order of prominence.
Reverse Osmosis is the gold
standard of water. Obviously we wanted fast absorption. Using a
water with any hard water components or contaminants would slow down
this absorption. Most companies use ‘purified’ water. Which may or may
not be as good. Might seem like a minor point, but I saw a huge
difference in the quality of our products when we switched from ‘just
purified’ about 15 years ago. Now we only use R-O Water.
Olive Leaf (Olea
Europaea), A particular favorite of ours now. Olive leaf supports
healthy skin.
Vitex Berries (Vitex
agnus castus) Supports healthy skin. Has been used for thousands of
years in Chinese medicines.
Burdock Root (Arctium lappa) Burdock has been an important medicinal
herb in Western folk medicine and in traditional Chinese medicine for
thousands of years, primarily valued for its blood cleansing and skin
healing properties. The entire plant is edible and is a popular
vegetable in Asia, particularly in Japan. More recently, burdock has
been an ingredient in hair tonics for stimulating hair growth and in
cosmetics with modern studies revealing its efficacy as a cosmetic
treatment for mature skin.
Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale) Dandelion is a sunny, subtle, yet
incredibly healing plant used for thousands of years in China and
mentioned in traditional Arabian medicine in the tenth century C.E. It
has been used for centuries, in traditional medicine practices all over
the world, as a restorative tonic, edible food, and in herbal wines and
beers. The root is a favorite amongst traditional herbalists as it
supports the healthy functioning of the liver, kidneys, spleen, and
gallbladder9-13 and is considered to be a reliable detoxifying agent.
Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) Licorice root is one of the most
widely used medicinal herbs worldwide and is the single most used herb
in Chinese medicine today. It was used by the Egyptians as a flavoring
for a drink called Mai-sus, and large quantities were found in the tomb
of King Tut for his trip into the afterlife. Pliny the Elder recommended
it to clear the voice and alleviate thirst and hunger. Dioscides, when
traveling with Alexander the Great, recommended that his troops carry
and use licorice to help with stamina for long marches, as well as for
thirst in areas of drought. In the Middle Ages it was taken to alleviate
the negative effects of highly spicy or overcooked food. In a recent
survey of Western medical herbalists, licorice ranked as the 10th most
important herb used in clinical practice. An astonishing number of
Chinese herbal formulas (over 5,000) use licorice to sweeten teas and to
“harmonize” contrasting herbs. Its first documented use dates back to
the time of the great Chinese herbal master Zhang Zhong Zhing, about 190
AD, but it was certainly used for many centuries prior to this.
Red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) is traditionally used to support
healthy skin.
Neem Leaf (Azadirachta indica) Long known in Ayurdevic medicine in
India, modern research has been confirming the traditional uses of the
neem tree in Indian folk medicine. Its many properties and uses have
given neem the reputation as Friend and Protector in Indian villages.
The neem tree is native to India, and has been used in so many ways that
it’s difficult to count them all.
Allantoin: Allantoin is a naturally occurring nitrogenous compound used
as a skin conditioning agent.
Germall plus (diazolidinyl Urea, 3-Iodo-2-propylbutylcarbarmate) less
